Building Our Home: Kitchen

We are actually making progress on our home!  Our foundation is in place & framing starts this week!

Parking our little Missel in her future parking spot... just to make sure she fits ;)
So far we've spent time between the design studio, lighting selections, & choosing our exterior stone.  It feels so amazing to have some decisions made.

The first room we worked on was the kitchen!  Michael and I finally agreed on colors and I CANNOT wait to see the final product!

One of the many kitchens we used for inspiration.  Love the white cabinets, dark countertops, farm style sink and bridge faucet.
We decided go with transitional styled white cabinetry with transitional hardware.
Unfortunately, I don't have a picture to share yet.
We've also chosen black countertops,
the plan is to double stack the granite on the island and leave rough finished edges.
Marron Cohiba Granite
Satin Finish
We LOVE how it resembles soapstone, but doesn't require the maintenance :)

The marble subway tile backsplash will tie in the white cabinets with the high contrasting counter tops.
We've chosen a matted finished.
Our appliances will be stainless steel and
we will of course have a farm sink to match :)

We are also going with a bridged faucet, but not this particular one :)

  1. You're kitchen sounds similar to mine, we are doing all stainless with the farm sink too! We are using the same quartz we had in the last house, gray with sparkles in it (it literally sparkles like diamonds at night) but I LOVE the black, so sleek!! Can't wait to see it all come together!! p.s. love your ride, I used to have an SLK 350 and it was my favourite ;)
