For My Son

saddest sad face I ever did see.

Beckett,

You are the most kind hearted little boy I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.  On days like today, when you test every ounce of my patience and I do everything in my power to keep my cool, to keep a level head, it helps me to think of your heart.

One morning we were out of milk & had to go pick some up at the store.  Ellia was strapped into her carseat crying and you were whining out of impatience.  I ran upstairs to grab a blanket & while I was gone everything silenced.  As I walked down the stairs, there you were, bent over the carseat rocking your baby sister.  Consoling her.

Another day, I was so exhausted & so drained that I couldn't help but burst into tears while Ellia cried through her tummy pain.  You, my sweet love, walked up to me, melted me with your beautiful big eyes, smiled and grabbed my hand.  As if to show me everything was okay.

There are no words to describe what these moments mean to me, how much you mean to me.

So on days like to today, when you're not feeling your best & fight me through every step of the day, all I need to do is remember these moments that I'm so incredibly thankful for.  Beckett, through our highs and our lows, I am forever thankful that I get to be your mama, that I get the pleasure of raising you to be the little gentleman you'll without a doubt be.  I love you sweet boy.

Love,
Mama
